The problem is that us pilots really want to buy a plane and some have the added challenge of having to sell their plane before getting a different one... this is all very real. Our desire to put our dream plane in the hangar and to fly her every chance we get is definitely real. Our ability to stay up late surfing the web, looking at planes and sending emails requesting more info... again, very real! I love planes! That's why my daughter and I designed our online aircraft showroom. She loves planes, too. All pilots love planes! So why is it such a hassle to actually buy one? Why do we stay up late at night surfing, emailing and dreaming? Why… because we can.
The Internet is without a doubt the very best place to buy a plane, but it can also be very frustrating and at times, even dangerous! I know this because I spend my days talking to other pilots who want nothing more than to find their dream plane. Five years ago Jessica and I started The Plane Exchange, with a mission of setting the standard for excellence in the aviation industry. After 20 years of selling planes at an FBO, I had experienced just about everything imaginable and knew there had to be a better way.
